Finkielstein Lab
Welcome from the Director...
For years now, we biologists have been working tirelessly to understand the processes that lead to cancer development and progression. We have done remarkable work in elucidating the molecular basis by which cells grow, divide, talk to each other, relate to the environment, and die. We have been using this information to develop new therapies and increase the efficacy of current ones. However, it has not been enough to cure cancer. Now is the time to do something different. We need to branch out to other disciplines and tackle this problem through interdisciplinary efforts. This is the direction that my lab is currently taking, and I believe Virginia Tech is the perfect place to develop this strategic plan.
